Malaviya Twenty impounded. ( official )

For some time now she has been tied up with no sign of life, it has now been confirmed that she has been impounded by International transport workers federation with assistance from the maritime and coastguard agency. It seems the ships medical certificate had expired, as well as records of wages missing. At one point there was £175,000 owed to past and present crew, wages for August are due by September 15th before any action can be made to release her from her enforced stay with us.
It is commonly known the the offshore industry in the UK is not in a good place in these uncertain times and that things will get worse before they get better. But for a company to withhold wages for staff who have family's to support is a situation they should never have got themselves into as your staff are your biggest asset. Im sure given time this will rectify itself and she will be on her way back out to sea, but this does show what a precarious business the shipping industry can be.
