Ships in the sunshine

With the weather still warm and sunny its perfect for getting some shots of whats coming and going, and thats just what my friend Paul done last week. He got some great shots down the river and im sure you will agree he takes a great photo. We have had some good activity in recent weeks and its great to get them on film.

Also of note is the report of the sale of Eastern Galene to an unnamed buyer, she has been a fixture of the river for quiet some time so will be a loss to the local river seen.

Last weeks photos.

Another week gone by and another week that i have not been able to get to the river, but thankfully my friend Paul came to the rescue as he visited for the day and got some great shots. I myself am trying to set up a new online business thats taking a lot of my time up. So its great that Paul can help like he does, and dont forget to have a look at his youtube Chanel as he has some great videos. Here are the photos he took last week.

Today's observations

As many of you know Malavyia twenty has been with us for nearly a year and a half after being impounded. The saga continues and no hope is in sight that she will leave any time soon. The crew have still not been paid and cant leave the ship, the owners have left them in the mire. What will become of this situation is unclear, but lets hope its soon so the crew can return home to India.
Looking a bit sad now after a year and a half in port
Another long term resident is still with us, she is coming close to having been here a year, Triton arrived last September just before the Maritime festival and has stayed put ever since.
Still waiting for her next job, old grey Triton
Another visitor this week is Navy training ship HMS Trumpeter, a lovely little lady who looks immaculate as always with a very polite crew on board. A welcome visitor to our port.

Last on today's list is Sayan Princess who is a very good example of her class and seems to be well looked after. She looks great even with some overcast looking sky's which is a welcome break from the constant heat we have had recently. There were some other's in town but gaining access to get photos is not always easy, especially since they closed south quay.

Live Marine Tracker now on the blog

For all those that visit the blog there is now the option to check out the live marine tracker to see what is where. Its a great way tho find a certain ship, or whats local to you.

Worth a visit

Just found this old railway poster to advertise Great Yarmouth and Gorleston, if you get the chance to come on over this summer it is the ideal place to unwind, the poster makes it look so wonderful.
There is always a good mix of ships in port and along the river. Where is your favourite place to take ship photos, drop me a line and let me know. We now have a translate link on the blog for our non English bloggers so its readable to everyone. With a bit of luck i shall be going down the river next week so keep an eye out for some photos, if you want to message me please feel free.
How things used to be

A tiddler comes out of the broads into the main river.
