Hot and sunny

With the end of my long weekend coming to an end i decided to do a trip around to photo what was in port, rather quiet today but lovely in the hot summer sun. Long term resident Malaviya Twenty is still in port. There was talk the ship had been impounded with regard to crew wages. How true that is i don't know but if true could be the reason she has been here so long now.
Seen entering port before her long lay up

We also seem to have an abundance of small crew boats in at the moment, either taking new crew or under repair. Rix Leopard, MPI Snowball, MPI Napoleon,Cerys Line to name but a few.

Further up the river was a little empty apart from the usual visit of Putford Voyager.
.

The other notable visitor is the newly renamed Wilchief 1 who was formally named Red Allience 7

Great Yarmouth Maritime Festival 2016

The main sipping event of the year is just around the corner over the weekend of 10th and 11th of September. Its a free event but a £1 donation on entry is normally the done thing. There are lots to do with ships to go on board including the newly launched Esvagt Sov. Also river trips on the Regal Lady. As well as trips on sailing ship Earl of Pembroke, ( Fees Apply )
So if your in the area come and enjoy a day by the river, eat some fresh herring, listen to the shanty singers, and enjoy the trade stands and local beer. Unfortunately its my weekend to work so will sadly miss this great event, so if anyone takes any photos send them in and i will put them on the blog.
